Ai gloriosi tempi della produzione autonoma di grandi limousine la prestigiosa casa inglese era tra i principali fornitori della Casa Reale Britannica. La Daimler attraverso la Jaguar realizza la DS 420, un'originale limousine con abitacolo diviso in due parti: quella anteriore riservata all'autista e quella posteriore, più ampia, per i facoltosi passeggeri vede la presenza di due strapuntini aggiuntivi. La carrozzeria realizzata dalla Vanden Plas aveva un muso ispirato a quello della Jaguar 420G ed una coda con bagagliaio sovrapposto. L'interno, riccamente rifinito, è quello unico di una auto di rappresentanza non a caso scelta dalla Regina Elisabetta II che ne acquistò diversi esemplari e dal Parlamento Inglese.

    To the glorious times of the autonomous production of large limousines, the prestigious English house was among the main suppliers of the British Royal House. The Daimler through the Jaguar makes the DS 420, an original limousine with a passenger compartment divided into two parts: the front one reserved for the driver and the rear one, wider, for the wealthy passengers sees the presence of two additional seats. The body made by Vanden Plas had a muzzle inspired by that of the Jaguar 420G and a tail with overlapped trunk. The interior, richly finished, is the only one of a representative car, not by chance chosen by Queen Elizabeth II who bought several copies and the English Parliament.
