Elegante, semplice, moderno ed informale, nasce dall'idea di rievocare il celebre Maggiolino reinterpretandone in chiave moderna le linee, ma dell'originale modello anni quaranta la New Beetle conserva solo l'impostazione estetica generale: tre archi di cerchio perfetti ed un cofano sorridente. Unisce la forma base del Maggiolino e la passione di Mays e Thomas (i due designers) per il design geometrico e minimalista del Bauhaus. Non si tratta quindi di un "retrò" copia fedele del passato, come avverrà anni dopo con altri revival automobilistici di successo, bensì di un'interpretazione futuribile di quella sorta di archetipo che è ormai diventata la sagoma del Maggiolino. Insomma: un'auto versatile che si adatterà  perfettamente alle vostre esigenze.

It combines the basic shape of the Beetle and the passion of Mays and Thomas (the two designers) for the geometric and minimalist design of the Bauhaus. It is not therefore a "retro" faithful copy of the past, as will happen years later with other successful car revivals, but a futuristic interpretation of that sort of archetype that has now become the shape of the Beetle.
